The Swimmers Kaleidoscope series is one of four Kaleidoscope series I have completed since 2010. Several collectors have said that they feel like they can stick their hands into the print. It is printed as a dye sublimation on metal which gives the illusion of being 3-Dimensional. Selecting the right material to present this photograph was extremely important to me. This is one of twelve final images I selected to make a Kaleidoscope that includes 81 images in a very large printed piece. I designed and drew out each image in pencil and then went through countless drills with the team to obtain the perfect graphic formation. I fell in love with their movements while watching them perform and was determined to take their energy and motion and interpret it into still photographs. These swimmers were the NCAA national synchronized swim team champions from Incarnate Word College in San Antonio, Texas. The "Swimmers Kaleidoscope Series" took over eighteen months to complete from my first layout to the completed Kaleidoscope.
